Welcome
As a Doctor of Psychology, my primary concern is for the overall well-being and improved life satisfaction of my patients. The services provided are based on understanding one's symptoms and finding the best method of treatment to help provide relief. Most often, psychotherapy or hypnotherapy is sufficient. However, other times, medication is warranted and can be provided in-house by my colleague, Norman Silversmith, M.D.
As a rule, my philosophy is to treat the causes as well as the symptoms in an effort to provide greater treatment benefit. This can be accomplished while remaining sensitive and respectful to the individual and his or her entire life situation.
With many conditions, understanding the origins of an individual's vulnerabilities can help transform suffering into mastery and monotony into positive change. In addition to helping provide symptom relief, the potential exists to enhance wellness, strengthen one's self-esteem, sense of identity, feelings of optimism, and contribute to the capacity to relate to others.
